Terms of use

Last updated 2 October 2026

The short version. Enjoy the site, share links to it, and quote it with credit. Please don’t copy Ed’s writing or covers wholesale. Free books and the newsletter come with no strings, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If a book you bought from us won’t download, tell us and we’ll fix it.

About these terms

edscriver.com is the author website of Ed Scriver, run by Phos Press LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this site you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these terms.

If you don’t agree with these terms, please don’t use the site, and do tell us why at ed@edscriver.com. We’d like to hear.

Using the site

You’re welcome to read, browse, search and link to anything here. Please don’t:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone
  • try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its services
  • send spam or automated messages through the contact form

Ed’s writing and other content

The stories, excerpts, blog posts, book covers, photos and design on this site belong to Ed Scriver, Phos Press LLC or the people who licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may: share links, quote short passages with credit and a link back (for reviews, articles and social media), and print or save pages for your own personal use.

You may not, without our written permission: republish or sell our content, reproduce book covers or substantial parts of the books, or use any of the site’s content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems.

To ask permission, use the contact form and choose “Rights & permissions”.

Free books and the newsletter

Free books such as Diary of a God are delivered through books.phospress.com, run for us by BookFunnel. Claiming one signs you up to Ed’s newsletter. Free books are for your personal reading; please don’t share or resell the files. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in every email, and still keep your free book.

We may change or end a free offer at any time.

Purchases and refunds

This site doesn’t sell anything directly. When you buy one of Ed’s books from a bookshop or online retailer, that seller’s terms and refund policy apply.

If you buy a digital book directly from Phos Press (an ebook, audiobook or PDF):

  • Downloads are available as soon as payment is processed. Payments are handled by a secure payment provider, and we never see your card details.
  • Because digital files are delivered instantly, we can’t usually accept returns, exchanges or cancellations once a file has been delivered, except where the law gives you that right.
  • If something goes wrong, for example the file won’t download or open, email ed@edscriver.com within 30 days of purchase. We’ll get you a working file or, if we can’t, give you a refund.
  • We may offer a refund in other exceptional cases, at our discretion.
  • Please download and keep a copy of your files after buying, as we can’t guarantee every product will stay available forever.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer where you live.

Messages you send us

When you send us a message or feedback, you confirm it doesn’t break any law or anyone else’s rights. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything. Please don’t send us unsolicited story ideas or manuscripts: we can’t read them, and this protects both of us.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, email ed@edscriver.com with the subject line “Copyright infringement”. Include the work you own, where it appears on this site, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised. We’ll look into it promptly.

Links to other sites

We link to other websites, such as Substack, Facebook, retailers and BookFunnel. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.

No guarantees

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it’s provided “as is”. Release dates, prices and book details can change, and the site may occasionally be unavailable. We don’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Phos Press LLC isn’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Phos Press LLC is registered. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
